Full Members
(1) Any surgeon who;(a) (i) Holds a certificate of Specialist Training in Plastic Surgery from the Joint Committee on Higher Surgical Training AND has their name on the Specialist Register of Plastic Surgery of the Irish Medical Council; or(ii) Holds or has held and consultant appointment (other than as locum tenens) in plastic surgery in the Public Health Service in teh Republic of Ireland; or(iii) Holds or has held any appointment equivalent thereto in the United Kingdom or(iv) In respect of whom a quorum of the Association membership has resolved to waive any requirement that they hold or have held any such Certificate or appointment as is referred to in (i) to (iii) hereof; and(b) Has been sponsored by two Full Members each of whom shall, unless a Quorum otherwise resolves, be employed in different units from each other; and (c) Has been recommended for Full Membership by a Quorum, shall be eligible to be a appointed a Full Member.(2) The names of candidates for Full Membership shall be submitted to the Honorary Secretary not later than two months prior to the next Annual General Meeting.(3) Full Member shall be entitled to:(a) To receive notice of and to attend Scientific and Clinical Meetings of the Association;(b) To have their names and addresses published on teh Associations Website;(c) To Receive notice of and to attend General Meetings and to vote. (4) Full Members shall be eligible to be elected or co-opted as Officers of teh Association(5) Full Members shall be bound to pay annual subscriptions in accordance with Article 17 of the Associations rules.
Subscriptions
(1) Annual subscriptions shall be be determined and annually reviewed by a Quorum. Annual subscriptiosn shall be payable on commencement or membership and thereafter on October 1st each year. Members appointed on any date other than 1st October shall pay such proportion of teh annula subscription, as the Officers of teh Association may in their absolute discretion consider appropriate. (2) Any member whose subscription or any other liability to the Association is in arrears of more than 12 months shall cease to eb entitled to any benefits of membership of the Association from 12 months after the date when the subscription or other liability became due. A Member whose subscription or any other liability to the Association is in 12 months arrears and who has been duly notified thereof shall cease to be a Member of the Association and any liability to the Association shall not be affected by the termination of their memberhsip, but they may with approval of a Quorum be reinstated to Membership on application in writing and after payment of arrears.
